The new Seteca video solution, one of the very first sold, will allow zamano to enhance its current mobile solutions to offer the latest 3G and video services.
Zamano plans to roll out 3G services in the UK and Ireland and then in other 3G enabled countries where they already have operations, working with the Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), to create interactive services for business, leisure and media.
“I believe that now the time is right to invest in 3G technologies and that the market will see a huge boost in the usage of 3G video services during the World Cup next month. Our decision to go with the C3 platform strengthens our position in the market and gives us a brilliant perspective for the future”, comments John O’Shea, Managing Director of zamano.
Zamano is buying a new Seteca 3G unit, which C3 launched at the 3GSM show in Barcelona in February. C3’s Seteca is a multi-channel call-handling system aimed at the value-added services sector and interactive TV.
It supports streaming video clips, pictures and music and allows the service provider to operate these elements together with IVR and voice services. The system has two important features – it allows a caller to talk with a live operator during a video call and it offers a facility to out-dial and conference 3G calls together.
As a leading mobile services provider, zamano is active in the Irish, UK and Australian markets. For the last three years the company has specialized in premium rate SMS platforms and applications and is now investing significantly in WAP publishing and video solutions.
The new Seteca system unit will allow zamano to run services on video short codes and other number ranges.
Comment from John Wood, Managing Director of C3:
“Zamano will be a key customer for C3, they come from the SMS aggregator community and will be one of the first to enter the 3G mobile services market. We shall we working closely with them during this period.”
